*When I Work is a remote first company.  While we have an office in Minneapolis, we are considering this a nationwide search.  Due to the pandemic, our entire staff is remote for now.  However, if an onsite location is important to you in your search, you are welcome to work from our Minneapolis HQ once our offices re-open.  

As the Manager, Mid-Market Sales Development, you will oversee execution of our Mid-Market Sales Development Team and assist in the strategy.  You are passionate about hiring, training, & coaching new sellers and building successful teams.  You have a proven track record for creating, implementing, and optimizing sales strategies. You drive process and hold employees accountable all while keeping things interesting and fun. You are motivated by a strong, innovative, and passionate work culture and are constantly searching for ways to improve, inspire others, and add value.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Manager, Mid-Market Sales Development you are responsible for managing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) building and supporting our Mid-Market Sales motions. You will provide direction and ongoing coaching around customer acquisition, best practices, and progress against goals ensuring we can achieve our short, mid, and long term quotas. You will be critical to building and scaling our sales efforts in the outbound, Mid-Market segment, a new and exciting growth lever for When I Work.

  • Lead, manage and scale Sales Development (SDR) Team  
  • Onboard and train new SDR hires
  • Develop both new hire and development training content 
  • Monitor, review and coach SDR calls and processes, specifically cold outreach 
  • Work with marketing leaders to develop and create SDR Playbooks
  • Performance manage weekly/monthly sales activity 
  • Assist in the execution and creation of new sales, messaging and marketing strategies
  • Stay current on When I Work  product features, advantages, benefits, and selling points
  • Assist in SDRs’ professional development
  • Coach and provide feedback to improve individual and team performance
  • Help manage employee concerns and issues
  • Participate in annual employee performance reviews
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Experience and Skills Needed

  • 2+ years of sales leadership experience
  • 3+ years B2B, sales experience selling technology
  • Experience prospecting and cold calling both as an individual contributor and as a sales leader
  • Experience building and scaling sales development teams 
  • Proven success coaching & mentoring teams to desired results
  • Experience hiring, onboarding, training and promoting Sales Development Reps
  • Experience building and executing SDR Playbooks 
  • Proven track record of exceeding goals in a sales development environment
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, not required, but preferred

  • SaaS sales leadership experience
  • Experience with tools including: ZoomInfo, Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
